Same day Crowns using our E4D Technology

>We proudly use the E4D system to fabricate same-day porcelain crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays that are completely free of metal. Older approaches depended on sending the the sculpted pieces created elsewhere and patients were forced to wear temporary pieces for several weeks before returning for a second appointment, but the E4D mills the restoration right here in our office and allows us to complete the procedure in a single appointment.

The E4D scans the patient’s mouth to learn the exact dimensions needed for the restoration. That information is fed to a design center where a technician will finalize the details before the restoration is created using strong porcelain. The dentist places the newly-created restoration right there and procedure is completed.

Rotary endodontics is a  technology that helps make the root canal experience both comfortable and efficient for dental patients.

Root Canal Therapy

A root canal treatment or endodontic therapy is the removal of the infected pulp from the inner root canals of the teeth that contain it. After the infected pulp is removed, the root canals are cleaned, sealed, and protected by the placement of a dental crown.

This procedure has been performed by dental clinics for many years, but more recently an advanced method of performing root canals was developed and is called rotary endodontics.

Rotary Endodontics

Rotary endodontics involved an electrically-powered instrument which performs the root canal treatment and replaces the traditional stainless-steel manual files.

The tip of the electric hand tool used is made out of nickel-titanium – a material that is five times more flexible than traditional stainless steel.

Rotary Endodontics made the procedure faster and more efficient because of the flexibility and unique movement of the nickel-titanium instrument. The instrument can be inserted deeply into a curved root canal without

One of the intraoral camera’s most important advantages is the ability to capture and manipulate an image in the oral cavity and save it to the patient’s chart. If electronic patient charts are not being used, the images can be printed and filed in the patient’s paper chart. This allows dentists to share their observations with patients so they can become better informed about their own overall dental health.

The images captured by intraoral cameras are used to accurately visualize problems with teeth and/or tissues, including fractured teeth or restorations, carious lesions, plaque buildup, and bleeding or inflamed tissues. With the intraoral camera’s technology, our dentists and their patients can collaborate on the right treatment plan to achieve optimal oral and dental health. Unique Dental of Worcester patients are now able to view potential problems along with our doctors while their treatment progress is effectively monitored. Sequential photos of the treatment effectively document our patient compliance and improvement in their oral health.

With the use of the intraoral camera, our doctors can examine the oral cavity for any precautionary symptoms that may indicate a health risk. This includes but is not limited to images of any problematic oral lesions, eating disorders, and other diseases that may be present in the oral cavity is essential to effective patient documentation.

The intraoral images captured by the camera closely illustrate the diagnoses and allow dentists to explain further to patients how to proceed with oral health treatment. This also allows dental care/ oral health care providers ti effectively demonstrate consequences to patients if the condition is left untreated.

Intraoral images can be printed out for patients to take home. Patients can then take the time to consider the proposed treatment plan and hopefully become more motivated to improve their oral health.

Some intraoral software programs allow images to be modified in real time to illustrate proposed esthetic changes prior to altering the tooth structure. Additionally, images can be sent electronically to dental laboratories for a more accurate color match in veneers, crowns, and/or fixed partial dentures.

Digital X-Ray is a form of X-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film.

Some advantages of digital X-rays includes time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images.

Also, less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.

Instead of X-ray film, digital radiography uses a digital image capture device. This gives advantages of immediate image preview and availability; elimination of costly film processing steps; a wider dynamic range, which makes it more forgiving for over- and under-exposure; as well as the ability to apply special image processing techniques that enhance overall display quality of the image.

Our CEREC system let’s us create lasting crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, and onlays right in our office so they can be placed in the same day, instead of waiting several weeks for a dental laboratory to fabricate them and bring the patient back for a second appointment.

The name CEREC originally stood for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics for the way it allows ceramic replacement teeth to be crafted right next to the dentists chair, but it is now said to be short for CEramic REConstruction.

The CEREC system not only contains components to manufacture the ceramic replacements on the spot, but also incorporates a 3-D camera and computer suite to make sure the pieces it crafts are the precise dimensions needed.

Because of the one-visit fast turnaround time of CEREC, we can eliminate the need for temporary crowns, bridges and other replacement pieces. That speeds up recovery and improves our patients quality of life.
